What We Do
Help Street Children has created a range of programs to improve the quality of life for street children and to ensure that every child can attend school. we are helping children in Haiti attend schools by paying their tuition and providing them with school supplies, uniforms, shoes in order to attend school. Most Haitians cannot afford to send their children to schools. The average Haitian live on less than 2 dollars a day. The average annual tuition per child is $131. We assist youths in developing their talents through music and film. HSC cinema provides youth with film education and technical training in entertainment. We train aspiring filmmakers in all aspects of production. youths are trained in fiction, documentary and television advertising. We have a school in Pestel, Haiti that house 35 students. Since most of our students are homeless we provide meals for them.
You can help us meet our goals by giving us a donation or by purchasing one of our Hispaniola's best coffee. For every bag we sell, $5 will go to funding a child's education and Haitian farmers. 1 out of every 6 people in Haiti rely on the coffee industry for survival. They sell coffee so they can send their kids to school.
• Coffee accounts for 30% of Haiti's products, making it #1.
• There are over 145,000 hectares of coffee cultivated in Haiti.
• Hispaniola green coffee is grown at altitudes over 6,000 feet.
Hispaniola green coffee growers hand pick the coffee cherries, using shade-grown farming methods and wet processing techniques to yield these unique blue-green colored beans. Hispaniola green coffee beans are also fair trade certified, playing an important role in the livelihood of Haitian coffee farmers. Haitian retailers and those who buy Haiti coffee are helping support the poorest populations in the Western Hemisphere.
